The Great Grammar Showdown!

Active Voice vs. Passive Voice

Meet the Contenders

Voice tells us who the main character of the sentence is. Let's see how our two contenders handle the action!

πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ Active Voice: The Action Hero

The subject is the hero who **PERFORMS** the action. It's direct, strong, and clear!

Formula:

Subject (Hero) + Verb (Action) + Object (Receives Action)

Example:

Maria kicked the ball.

πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈ Passive Voice: The Mystery Solver

The subject **RECEIVES** the action. The focus is on what happened, not who did it.

Formula:

Object + 'to be' verb + Verb (Action) + by + Subject (Hero)

Example:

The ball was kicked by Maria.
